Support of UK Mobile App Developers

Nokia has announced a collaborative partnership with Entrepreneur First, a UK-based tech start-up accelerator. Nokia will sponsor the organisation, providing resources to Entrepreneur First's young innovators.

The goal: to inspire them to build new businesses, especially ones founded on the core design, architecture and functionality of Nokia's exclusive career services app, JobLens. In addition, the partnership will launch a contest for universities in the UK that will award prize money to break-through ideas for adapting JobLens.

"We want to challenge these young minds to imagine how JobLens can be enhanced and refined to address UK unemployment, a challenge that unfortunately all too many countries are combatting." says Bryan Biniak, VP & General Manager Global Partner & App Development, Nokia.

Entrepreneur First is a not-for-profit programme that launched in 2012, backed by Silicon Valley Bank, Microsoft, BSkyB, McKinsey & Company, Experian, the City of London Corporation, and Osborne Clarke. The programm aims to make high-growth entrepreneurship an exciting and viable career choice for talented graduates, by offering training and mentoring, as well as access to a network of leading entrepreneurs and investors.

"London has a world-class reputation as a technology hub - especially in the mobile sector. Today we applaud this partnership as it comes to life in the service of job seekers and future employers alike as part of our commitment to supporting London Communities," says Mark Boleat, Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee, City of London Corporation.

Entrepreneur First is already changing graduates' career expectations and is now the UK's second biggest recruiter of Cambridge Computer Scientists.

The Nokia partnership with Entrepreneur First and university promotion will be overseen by Nokia Growth Partners and Nokia Developer Experience.
